About Us

HomePods.org is a global internet community of volunteers. We have no paid employees and everything is done remotely. We each choose whether to work alone, with a partner, or in groups according to our individual preferences our Join Us page.

We are on a search for the best possible micro-dwelling for people who are homeless. These micro-dwellings must be tiny, insulated, secure, comfortable, weather-proof, and visually appealing .

In 2026, HomePods.org will tow the world’s best micro-dwelling that we’ve found along the entire length of the world’s longest national highway, by bicycle. Our trek will be streamed live via the internet. We will visit homeless shelters along the way, showcasing organizations who already do so much for the homeless. We will also interact with the public by phone and kiosk as we travel.

In the meantime, we need your help. Whoever you are, wherever you live in the world. If you are reading this, you can contribute to our cause. Money, time, ideas. We need them all. Read our website to understand what we are looking for. Search the internet for examples we haven’t found yet. Send us a few dollars to help cover our expenses.

Visit our Join Us page to participate – even if it’s just to give us an opinion. That few minutes will encourage us. It will also indicate to potential donors and manufacturers that there is a global will to address homelessness.

There’s a lot to be done. We need a board of directors, researchers, engineers, videographers, artists and designers. We need volunteer accountants and lawyers. We need people to respond to public enquiries. We need extroverts willing to reach out to potential manufacturers and donors. We need people familiar with making grant applications. We need people to set up pages and channels for us in social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, NextDoor, and LinkedIn, etc.). We need homeless shelters to tell us how many HomePods they’d like to have. We even need trip planners to guide our bicycle route as we tow the first HomePod cross-country in 2026.

HomePods.org does not purchase, own, or rent real estate. We have no office. Overhead is kept at a minimum so that donated funds can be used most effectively – to pay for this website and to directly promote and purchase HomePods homeless shelters for hosts and the homeless who lack the budget to purchase their own.

Homeless people lack a safe place to sleep, a fixed address, and a support network of family and friends. When a Homepod gets hosted and mentored, it can provide stability and grounding to an otherwise disconnected life. The homeless person gets a truly personal space, with a private entrance, allowing them the independence of being able to come and go as they please. Simultaneously, host facilities and HomePod communities can create a sense of belonging to a larger whole by promoting regular contact with others.

If you’d like to make a difference in the lives of the homeless, this is your chance. Join Us.
